The Romanian Symposium on Computer Science (ROSYCS) is organized and hosted by the Faculty of Computer Science, "A.I.Cuza" University of Iasi, Romania since 1979. Until its last edition in 1988, the Symposium was held every two years. It is being perceived as an important national meeting for mature researchers working both in theoretical and applied Computer Science. Beginning with the 1991 edition, the Symposium was attended as well by distinguished scientific personalities from United Kingdom, Germany, France, Belgium, Russia, Republic of Moldavia, USA, Canada, Japan etc.
The topics of the previous editions ranged from Formal Languages, Parallel and Distributed Computing, Complexity, Computational Statistics, Functional Programming, Algebraic Specification to Natural Language Processing, Evolutionary Calculus, Databases and Applications of Graph Theory in Computer Science.
ECIT '2000
ECIT aims to bring together scientists and practitioners from academic, governmental, and industrial institutions to discuss new developments and results in the field of intelligent technologies. The Congress will be organized in Iasi, Romania, the ancient capital of Moldavia and the oldest academic center in Romania.
The congress is composed of plenary presentations, semi-plenary sessions, panel sessions, invited and contributed sessions, and other events. There will be parallel and interactive sessions. They include scientific and applied presentations in Fuzzy Technology, Neural Nets, Genetic Algorithms, Nonlinear Dynamics.
Iasi City
Iasi, the old Moldavian capital, is now home for more than 50'000 Romanian and foreign students learning in four major state universities and in more than five smaller, private universities or colleges. Several major research institutes are also located in Iasi city.
The Congress will be held on the Iasi Northern academic campus, which includes the University of Iasi, part of the Technical University of Iasi buildings, the University of Medicine, the Romanian Academy–Iasi Branch building, and several academic research institutes, including the Institute for Computer Science. The historical buildings of the University of Iasi, founded at 1859, of the Iasi University of Medicine, founded at 1887, of the Institute of Electrotechnics, founded in 1912, and of the Medical and Biology Society, founded in 1839, are located in this campus. The main buildings are at a 5 minutes walking distance.
Iasi can be reached directly from Bucharest airport, by airplane, train or car.
