Submission of papers (minim 6, max 15 pages) is welcomed on the topics outlined. Extended abstracts should be four to six pages. Abstracts may be submitted via e-mail. Paper acceptance will be based on the extended abstracts. Accepted papers will be published in the Conference Proceedings. Full paper submission will be required for consideration for publication in special issues of several journals and in one or several volumes to be published after theConference. The International Program Committees and the Sceintific Committees of the Symposia will evaluate the papers. Accepted papers must be presented by one of the authors at the conference. The Proceedings will include only papers of registered authors. A registered participant can not be co-author to more than three papers and principal author to more than two papers. CALL FOR INVITED SESSIONS Proposals of invited sessions are especially welcomed. These proposals should contain the title of the session, a list of 5 speakers and titles of their papers, together with abstracts completed according to the above instructions. They should be sent to the Conference Secretariat by April 15, 2002. For those wishing to organize invited sessions, workshops or special interest group sessions around the conference dates, please submit a brief description of the activity with estimated space and time requirements to the program committee address before April 15, 2001. Selections of papers will be published in several journals, including:
NEW Announcement Call for presentations in the Demonstration and Panel Sessions Due to the incentive of several potential participants, the Scientific Committee has decided to add Demonstration Sessions and Panel Sessions to the program, to encourage the interactive "hands-on" ideas exchange. Presentations in the Demonstration Sessions should mandatory include hardware or software presentation and operation. Presentations in the Poster Sessions should mandatory outline experimental results presented in graphical form. Purely theoretical papers are not accepted in these sessions. Proposals for presentations in these sessions are accepted until May 1. Papers for these sessions will undergo a fast reviewing and will be limited to 4 pages length. The authors of accepted presentations will be given the opportunity to submit extended manuscripts for the journal special issues published after the Conference. Important notice The number of papers presented by a participant in the Poster or Demonstration Sessions is limited to two. The total number of papers presented by a participant in whatever session can not be larger than 3. However, demonstrations can be presented by accompanying Ph.D. students. INSTRUCTIONS TO AUTHORS Submission of papers Submission of a paper implies that it is not being considered for publication elsewhere, and it will not be submitted for publication elsewhere during the reviewing procedure or after acceptance for publication. The Authors unconditionally transfer the copyright to this Conference. Employer clearance to publishshould be final at the time of submittal. Once the manuscript is acceptedfor publication, the authors will be asked to transfer the copyright. Submissionof multi-authored manuscripts implies the consent of all participating authors. Each manuscript (for regular papers) should be sent in three copies for reviewers, plus one copy on diskette, or by e-mail, for the file. Style of manuscripts An abstract of about 100 words, and five to seven keywords must be included before the main text. The manuscript should be typed single-spaced, with 3 cm margins, on A4 format, minim 6, max 15 pages. The printing should be of good quality. Use Times or Times New Roman fonts, size 10. Papers should be written in English. Language should be perfect. Include a diskette (1.4M) that contains the manuscript, in MS-Word (IBM PC). On the label, the name of the corresponding author, the first three words of the title and the text processor version used should be indicated. Sending submissions by e-mail is strongly encouraged. However, a hard copy of the paper and of the copyright transfer form should be sent too. A signed Copyright Transfer Form must be accompanying any submission. Figures and diagrams Figures and diagrams should be included in the file on the diskette. Photographs are accepted only in special cases. Consult the Editors. References Only references to published work, made in the text, and should be listed in the Reference section, at the end of the paper. References should be listed according to the alphabetical order and numbered consecutively. In the text, references should be indicated by Arabic numerals in square brackets.
