Message from Academician Florin Filip,

Vice-President of the Romanian Academy

Co-Chairman, International Honorary Advisory Committee

Dear colleagues,

The important scientific event held in Iasi these days gives me the opportunity to transmit on behalf of the Managing Board of the Romanian Academy my best wishes to all participants in their creative works in the field of Intelligent Systems.

This conference is particularly important because it takes a broad view of the domain and addresses both methodological and technological aspects and significant applications such as medicine, biology and control. In this respect I think Iasi is a proper place to host such a conference because in Iasi several significant results, I am very well aware of have been obtained and reported in the last decade. I know that Professor Teodorescu, a brilliant scientist and a fine man, made great and effective efforts to organize the conference.

Also is the conference important because the attendees are coming from many Romanian universities and societies as well as from European and Japanese research organizations.

Expressing my sincerest regrets for not being able to attend this major scientific event, I would like to transmit my wishes for the success of the conference.

Prof. F.G. Filip Vice-President , Romanian Academy

I am sure you will also enjoy the conference.

Unluckily due to unforeseen circumstances I will not be able to join you this time. I hope, however, that we will see each other next time.

On behalf of the Biomedical Fuzzy Systems Association, I send this message of congratulation to the participants of the Second European Conference on Intelligent Systems and Technologies, to be held at Iasi, Romania on July 17-20, 2002. I also express our appreciation and thanks for the huge efforts of the Organizing Committee members, especially Professor Horia-Nicolai Teodorescu, for arranging many things for our attendance from academic, governmental, and industrial institutions.

I am confident this Conference will be a good opportunity to discuss new scientific and technical developments and results. I am sure that this conference will be fruitful and will influence not only on the progress in the field of intelligent systems and technologies, but also on the cultural friendship among researches from various countries.

At the end but the most important is for us to meet repeatedly at this European Conference on Intelligent Systems and Technologies, here in Iasi, Romania, or elsewhere.
