	Motivation Objectives Phases Public documents Consortium Contacts Links	Digital communication systems using multiple antnennas for transmission and reception is a promising technology for higher transmission rates in communication systems by using the same frequency bandwidth and it became a viable solution for the next generation wireless networks. The basic feature of the MIMO technology is that it transforms the multipath propagation from a main negative factor in a significant means for the improving of communication quality in the next generation wireless networks. MIMO technology could increase the throuput by orders of magnitude without requiring an increase in frequency bandwidth or transmission power.
